研究タイトル - Decarbonizing Compact Cities: Strategic Planning for AEV-Based Public Transport
- 研究概要
- This study aims to identify the optimal proportion of alternative energy vehicles (AEVs) in compact cities by using the LEAP model to simulate energy consumption and carbon emissions under three AEV penetration scenarios. Compact cities—characterized by high population density and low automobile dependency—are widely promoted for sustainable urbanization. While public transportation and compact urban forms help reduce emissions, recent studies suggest that meaningful reductions also require the adoption of AEVs. However, the optimal penetration rate of AEVs in public transit remains underexplored. To address this, the study designs three scenarios—high, medium, and low AEV penetration—and applies the LEAP model to selected compact cities to evaluate their impacts. The findings aim to inform sustainable transportation policy. This research contributes to broader interdisciplinary efforts toward low-carbon development by integrating urban planning, sustainable mobility, and energy systems modeling.
