| Title of the Research | CO2 Reduction Potential of Global Supply Chain Networks: An MRIO Approach Incorporating Maritime Network Structures |
| Outline of Research | My research focuses on CO2 reduction potential of global supply chain (GSC) restructuring with consideration for the environmental efficiency of international shipping. 23% of global CO2 emissions are embodied in traded goods through GSC. The restructuring of GSC can significantly reduce the carbon footprint of production. However, GSC is highly dependent on international shipping. Multi-Regional Input–Output (MRIO) tables, one of the most effective tools currently for analyzing the GSC, do not provide insights into transportation systems used for trade flows. My research aims to propose a new MRIO framework that incorporate maritime network to estimate the CO2 reduction potential. |
