| Title of the Research | Optimizing heat sink in nuclear fusion reactor using Topology optimization |
| Outline of Research | Plasma facing components (PFCs) are faced with extreme heat load inside a fusion reactor. Some useful concepts for optimizing heat deposition of PFCs are necessary. In a fast-breeder reactor, reduced-activation ferritic steel (RAFS) will be used around cooling systems inside PFCs. Then it is effective to design a heat sink with consideration about the heat conductivity of RAFS. Topology optimization can play a role to design its heat sink. The goal of this study is to propose a design for an effective heat sink inside reactor using this technique. |
