Title of the Research Experimental research of non-locality of turbulence in magnetized plasma.
Outline of Research Understanding the physical mechanism of turbulent transport in magnetized plasmas and suppressing it is essential for the realization of fusion reactors, which are expected to be the next generation large-scale power plants. In magnetized plasmas, microscopic turbulence coexists and interacts with macroscopic structures and flows, resulting in the development of non-locality. PLATO at the Research Institute of Applied Mechanics, Kyushu University is the first tokamak specific to turbulence measurements and has a lot of measurement ports. In this research, the role of non-locality in turbulent transport will be studied by using tomography measurement of the global structure and a newly developed composite probe array.
